We have an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to join our Corporate HR Team in Beachwood, OH!

The Senior Human Resources Representative supports Penske’s Engineering and Technology teams and is responsible for performing professional human resources work in a variety of concentrations, including associate relations, staffing, talent management, training and development, and corporate special projects. This position will work closely with Leadership in a proactive approach to ensure the right associates are in the right jobs and are fully engaged and properly developed to provide sustained business success. The position requires someone with strong communications / influencing skills who is self-driven and embraces change.

This role will be based out of our Beachwood, OH office with the flexibility to be hybrid with 3 days in the office.

Major Responsibilities:

Provide Human Resources support in the following areas of concentration:

– Associate Relations: Advise associates and management on interpretation of human resources policies, programs, and procedures. Investigates associate complaints and works with HR Leadership and Legal Counsel to resolve.

– Recruiting: Support departments in their recruiting efforts by collaborating with managers and corporate recruiter. Anticipate staffing needs and work proactively to develop a staffing strategy.

– Talent Development: Maintain oversight of high performers and ensure development plans for those associates are in place. Leverage training tools and educate managers regarding training availability. Conduct on-site training, as necessary. Ensure all associates have access to appropriate job-related training. Conduct training needs assessments.

– Performance Management: Actively engages management team in performance management process from a training and coaching standpoint and ensure follow-up on performance improvement plans.

– Engagement: Advise department managers on strategy and activities that will promote a positive working environment and will develop managers’ skills to reward and recognize and create a culture of engagement.

– Diversity and Inclusion: Ensure that managers foster an inclusive work environment. Promote diversity awareness training. Utilize and encourage the use of a diversity lens when sourcing and selecting candidates for open positions.

– Immigration: Monitor employment authorization expiration dates for all foreign nationals and ensure their ongoing ability to continue their work assignments without interruption. Ensure compliance with Penske immigration responsibilities, including maintenance of public access files and other responsibilities. Oversee the maintaining of appropriate work authorization for non-US citizens under various visa classifications and help to facilitate the PERM process by partnering with outside legal counsel.

– Compensation and Benefits: Communicate Penske benefits information to associates and partner with Compensation department to conduct compensation reviews.

– Compliance: Responsible for compliance of HR related matters (e.g. I-9s, required training completion).

– Special Assignments and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

– 4 years Human Resources experience required.

– Strong knowledge of HR functions: associate development, associate relations, performance management, employment law, staffing, compensation, benefits, and training.

– Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.

– Skill in operation of variety of computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

– Ability to interpret Human Resources policies, procedures and laws.

– Knowledge of non-immigrant and immigrant processes preferred.

– Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

– Ability to collect, compile and analyze information and data.

– Ability to work well independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision; strong sense of urgency.

– Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

– Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
