Job Description

Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help everyone to be more productive and enable innovation.

An imperative around driving efficient, reusable and easy to consume technology solutions is a bedrock of our Company's IT and Digital Strategy. The Enterprise Architecture capability across the company needs to pivot and expand its service offerings and delivery results this year. The CTO Organization’s EA team has been tasked to lead this transformation.

This position reports to the AVP of Enterprise Architecture, with dotted organizational alignment to senior IT leadership in the Human Health business. This position will lead the overall EA function and EA services that support the business’s global commercial operations. The position is responsible for delivering business, systems and technology architecture decisions that inform IT investments that drive business outcomes for Human Health.

This leader will have an opportunity to work on a truly enterprise team that engages with leaders across all divisions and will be directly involved in helping enable our CIO’s vision of a more top-down, agile, and business outcomes focused IT organization. The position will oversee the work of up to 10+ professionals.

A partial list of responsibilities includes the following:

  • Lead end-to-end development of business, systems and information technology blueprints and roadmap deliverables tailored for the Human Health domain.

  • Establish strong working relationships with business and technology leaders in order to drive investment planning, portfolio planning and execution.

  • Be a member of the HH divisional IT leadership team and report dotted-line to the HH divisional IT VP.

  • Stay current with industry technology trends and introduce best practices to our Company's IT.

  • Set divisional team’s annual deliverables/objectives and performance goals.

  • Promotes a common approach to the delivery of divisional business objectives.

  • Drive the notion of reusable architecture assets & standards such as current-state business/technology capability maps as well as future state planning roadmaps across all of IT.

  • Work across IT to drive capability-led investment planning decisions.

  • Help define and own the management of the EA operating model across the enterprise.

  • Support the creation of a common and well managed set of EA practices, which includes architecture models, architecture governance processes, architecture methods and templates, architecture communities and training, and much more.

  • Effectively coordinate activities leveraging both waterfall and agile project execution methodologies.

  • Develop trusted relationships with peer organizations and stakeholders globally to identify EA Service improvement opportunities.

  • Discover, recommend, and implement enhancements to HHIT architecture.

  • Apply risk-based decision making to complex problems and consult with relevant subject matter advisors as needed to inform the decision.

  • Prepare and deliver executive level status reports and communicate complex topics effectively to a diverse executive audience.

  • Facilitate EA Governance within the HH division with accountability and authority for new platform (re-platforming) investment choices.

  • Travel will be required (~10%).

Position Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 15 years relevant experience in a combination of IT planning, design, and implementation projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders and navigate across conflicting priorities to balance critical tactical and strategic needs.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills – able to effectively communicate complex concepts in simple ways.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • Strategic thinker, with demonstrated ability to work in a broad and top-down manner with a fair amount of ambiguity at the center.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a variety of audiences and stakeholders including, but not limited to executive management, business leaders, IT peers, and colleagues worldwide.

  • Demonstrated leadership in achieving shared objectives in a matrix organization, managing cross-divisional initiatives, and cross-functional teams in an extremely dynamic environment.

  • Results-orientation with the proven ability and reputation for developing plans and implementing them successfully.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Prior experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, including a strong understanding of modern Pharmaceutical Commercial Operations, Contracting & Pricing.

  • Experience with Veeva CRM, for face to face, remote interactions, and event management.

  • Solid understanding of web/mobile: Web CMS, CDN, Content Management, Design Systems (WordPress experience desirable).

  • Web Analytics – cookies and compliance, data privacy, content tagging and tracking.

  • Medical/Legal Review content review processes (ideally in Veeva PromoMats).

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud – campaign management, email marketing.

  • Salesforce Lightning / force.com experience.

  • Prior experience in Enterprise, Technical or Solution Architecture.

  • Experience in process and master data definition.

  • Experience with our Company systems development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

  • Master’s or other advanced degree.
