General Description:

Maintains and manages the execution of the Master Production Schedule and inventory levels of finished goods. Assists with operational leadership that capacity constraints and operation scheduling problems are identified, communicated and resolved in a timely enough manner to meet or exceed productivity goals (Schedule Attainment, Product Availability, and Backorder). Capacity considerations include internal people, equipment, and facilities.

Essential Functions:

Position may perform any or all of the following tasks as assigned.

Maintains a valid weekly Master Production Schedule and inventory levels of finished goods. Interacts frequently with Supply Planner/Sr. Supply Planner and Manufacturing personnel to ensure finished goods supports the Master Schedule. Maintains accurate systematic capacities to meet requirements for specific products and options in time periods relevant to the customer. Ensures accuracy of the projected capacity requirements from the detailed capacity plan. Alters the production start dates by cascading work order, accepting expedites, and removing push outs as required. May be responsible for monitoring the Master Production Schedule for orders with past due operation due dates or orders whose dates are in jeopardy. When past due operation due dates are found, works with Integrated Business Planning/Customer Service to communicate new completion dates. Assists the Production Team Leader/Team Leader and/or applicable suppliers in resolving identified production problems which could result in new build rates and completion due dates. Participates with the production and supporting department supervisors in the weekly detailed capacity planning meeting to analyze capacity plans in the short, medium, and long-term planning horizons in order to resolve capacity problems (shortage or excess) in a timely manner. Provides timely corrective action to ensure that available capacity will support customer requirements and maintain established productivity goals. If corrective action is not possible, reports that situation to the Supply Planner/Sr. Supply Planner. Works with the Supply Planner/Sr. Supply Planner or Supply Chain Analyst to resolve capacity shortages through bottom-up re-planning which may result in rescheduling or splitting jobs. Coordinates with the Material Planner/Buyer to expedite material requirements through the supply chain as needed. Assists with the review and communication of finished goods and service backorder. Prints production work orders in alignment with the Master Production Schedule and customer due dates. Attends and participates in recurring scheduling meetings Manages Detailed Schedule Performance at or above 95% for assigned finished goods. Perform additional duties as assigned. May create and maintain accurate Bill of Materials, aligned with production released blue prints. Support Change Management and quality requirements. Including changes orders, change details, non-conformances and corrective actions.

EXPERIENCE AND NECESSARY SKILLS:

Degree in business, engineering or supply chain management field preferred. APICS or other related Certification preferred. Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, planning and problem solving skills. Preferred ERP systems and computer software experience e.g. QAD, Excel, etc. Technical Skills:

Customer Service: Delivers operational excellence in customer service, through a deep appreciation of customer needs, the key enablers to deliver service with the appropriate attitude and 'customer - first' mindset to exceed customer expectations.

Issue Management: Proactively diagnoses and addresses potential issues in supply shortage or customer service interruption (e.g. detailed capacity planning constraints).

Continuous Improvement & Measurement: Application of appropriate Process Improvement Tools, Techniques and Supply Chain metrics to measure, analyze, diagnose and improve future performance.

Extended Supply Chain Awareness: A good understanding and awareness of the principles of extended Supply Chain management and fundamentals of Supply Chain design and strategy.

Leveraging IT: Proactively seeks to leverage existing IT capabilities to improve current and future Supply Chain performance (e.g., systems, reports or metrics).

Physical requirements:

Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, etc. Most of the work is conducted in a seated position working with a computer or written materials. Must be able to communicate verbally and through technology aids (telephone, email, fax, text etc.). Must satisfactorily meet requirements of an ongoing training program. May need to travel up to 0-10% of time.
