Field Property Claims Adjuster
Responsibilities:
- Manages a pending of Property field insurance claims
- Works 90% in the field
- Obtains necessary information from the claimant, attorneys and from experts such as architects, engineers, builders, construction workers, police officers, health care practitioners, accountants, and others
- Works well with clients, team members, insureds and third parties to resolve claims effectively
- Understands insurance policies and policy interpretation, establishes appropriate loss estimates based on all relevant information and findings
- Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters to insurance carriers on conclusions and recommendations
- Maintains accurate, thorough field notes, journal entries, and time and expense records as required
Qualifications:
- Prior First Party and Property Property claims preferred
- Prefer an AIC and/or CPCU candidate
- State licensing required.
- In-depth knowledge of first party, commercial property, liability, and construction claims
- Comprehensive experience working in Xactimate
- Ability to evaluate and properly reserve and pay a claim.
- Experience working with attorneys
- Proven ability to multitask
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and critical thinking required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Competent written and oral business communication skills
- Able to provide excellent customer service
- Teamwork and respect for others, as well as ethical behavior and professional conduct, and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Able to operate a motor vehicle 4-5 hours per day and to get in and out of the vehicle numerous times during the day
- Able to load and unload equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds from a motor vehicle as needed to perform field work
- Able to bend, walk, and climb for several consecutive hours while inspecting damaged buildings, often with utilities turned off or inoperable
- Able to use a ladder safely to get onto and off roofs, and maintain balance while inspecting roofs
- Able to perform field work in adverse weather.
