Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage timing of new line and renewal reinsurance placements in conjunction with the underwriter for all lines of business in CI (Property, GL, Auto, etc.).
  • Will monitor any changes in underwriting strategies and will perform placement review in relation to respective changes.
  • Negotiates CI’s terms and conditions with reinsurers via the eRe platform.
  • Will assess reinsurance placements and make recommendations i.e. identify treaty need, need for change in reinsurance strategy.
  • Monitor capacity by reinsurer as per Chubb’s corporate guidelines.
  • Will share placement details with the corporate reinsurance and claims teams upon requ+est.

Knowledge and Skills:

Candidates for this position should have 5-7 years of experience in commercial underwriting and/or knowledge of insurance industry theories and practices is required. They should have an understanding of facultative reinsurance including experience with negotiating terms and conditions with reinsurers. Expertise using the eRe platform is not mandatory but is a plus.

Candidates must demonstrate a high proficiency in time management, collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, analytical, and negotiation skills. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of business partners.
