The Insurance Representative is responsible for managing insurance information for small commercial groups, direct groups and individual plans. This position also handles all facets of the process from initiation of member enrollment through termination, verification of eligibility, monthly billing, payment processing and reconciling discrepancies on a complex insurance software system.

  • Resolve within 24 hours all administrative requests from both internal and external sources.
  • Research and resolve member eligibility questions from dental offices, brokers and company representatives.
  • Reconcile and resolve discrepancies between monthly billings and corresponding premiums received from large commercial groups, small to large direct groups, and the individual plans, and notifying customers of discrepancies between those premium payments and eligible members.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our members by answering telephone calls or responding to emails.
  • Administer group and individual plans on a daily basis, prepare monthly billing premium statements as well as broker commission statements.
  • Use of insurance application system to record and resolve all customer inquiries, attach documents to groups, and work in a paperless environment.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma required.

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Skill in:

  • Math and problem solving.
  • Both written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and highly organized; effective follow through, and commitment to excellence.

Ability to:

  • Think analytically and multi-task.
  • Attain a very high level of knowledge and proficiency in complex software systems.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and resolve customer inquiries.
