Come be a part of something bigger: An Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) with over 40 operating companies, 7,500 employees, and global operations.**Job Summary:**Akima is looking for a Senior Facility Security Officer to support several of our subsidiary companies and to provide leadership for the security team in our Herndon, VA location. The Sr FSO will report directly to the Director of Security.The Sr FSO manages the industrial security program for assigned companies, including processing and maintaining security clearances; management of facilities; management of personnel security records; classified contracts; and ensures the Security Programs are compliant with all government regulations as well as meeting the requirements under the (NISPOM) National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual. The Sr FSO provides specialized expertise, guidance, advice, training, and support to executive management, operations management, and employees, as applicable, concerning all aspects of the companys security policies, procedures, and practices. The Sr FSO will frequently rely on independent judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis, and resolution of security-related matters. The Sr FSO will also be appointed as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) for assigned subsidiaries.**Responsibilities:**+ Daily use of the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to manage personnel security clearances; initiating initial investigations and periodic reviews; visit requests; incident reports; reciprocity requests; verification of clearances; and all other actions processed in this system.+ Provides initial security briefings and, if required, briefings for NATO and COMSEC. NATO and COMSEC updates are made in DISS and/or directly to the customer.+ Per customer requirements, completes/submits encrypted VARs/VALs and SCI requests.+ Works directly with the information security section to investigate security breaches; identifying and resolving security related problems that arise; and finalizes appropriate agency reports if required.+ Manages National Industrial Security System (NISS) account records for assigned companies. This will include Change Condition packages reporting any company and KMP updates; uploading requested data for DCSA audits/continuous monitoring meetings; communication with Industrial Security Representative(s) (ISR); entering annual projected security investigation numbers; and uploading of certification of Annual Self Inspections; NISS is also used for verification of Facility Clearance Levels(FCLs) and processing of sponsorships for FCLs for companies not currently cleared.+ Establishes and maintains an Army Centralized Contracts and Security Portal (ACCS) account for classified contracts. Inputs personnel, DD254s, subcontract DD254s, SCI requests, and visit requests as required.+ Main POC for any cleared room/SCIF accreditations in the Herndon facility. Reviews DCSA and IC customer standards for accreditation, then provides recommendations to program managers and executives. Conducts inventory of classified hardware and documents, purging items that have been closed out or are no longer needed for the contract specified. Documents these findings on 100 percent inventoried classified management list. Assists in the preparation of emergency management and contingency planning for classified storage materials.+ Assists in evaluating the company Security Policy and Procedures document on an annual basis, ensuring subsidiary activities and functions remain in compliance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) standards.+ As the ITPSO, participates with the Insider Threat Working Group to ensure plan compliance. Assists in updating plan to incorporate needed revisions identified for DSCA compliance.+ Attends meetings with DCSA and IC security personnel. Educates employees about the upcoming DCSA facility audits, overseeing the semiannual self-inspections to ensure the company follows through on all remedial actions when identified.+ As requested, will be the Security expert POC for writing and reviewing the security portion of proposals and other contract requirements.+ Engages in ongoing communications with co-workers as well as company business groups ensuring company-wide understanding of security policies and procedures are followed.+ Maintains continued relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement, intelligence community government agencies, other related government agencies, and private sector counterparts.+ Performs other activities as assigned.**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications:**+ 6-8 years experience as a federal contractor providing industrial and information security support for government customers+ Current Top-Secret Clearance+ Certified as an FSO per the NISPOM requirements+ Practical (hands-on) experience in managing secure facilities (TS and below) through the DCSA and SCIF management under any government agency+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.+ Ability to interact with, and ability to present to, senior level managers and executives+ Expert knowledge of DISS, ACCS, NISS, and SWFT.
