Novartis protects 766 million patients and employs more than 100,000 employees in over 140 countries.<br><br>Job Purpose<br>The Head Global Security US is the most senior security representative in the region and sits on the Global Security Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Head Global Security. The key purpose of this role is to implement and drive the Global Security strategy in the region. Central to this strategy is the leadership and coordination of impartial, fact-based investigations into 'high risk’ allegations of internal fraud and misconduct and local Compliance investigations, and further, to drive proactive and reactive security initiatives across the region to protect Novartis associates, estate, products, patients, proprietary information and reputation.<br><br>Major Accountabilities<br>• Responsible for implementing the Global Security strategy in the US and lead a wide diverse team in that geography. Prioritize, lead and direct impartial, fact-based investigations assigned by the SpeakUp Office (SUO) into “Central matter” / high-risk (including FCPA) allegations of internal misconduct, including policy violations and/or criminal wrongdoing, across all business functions and at all levels of seniority.<br>• Prioritize, lead and direct impartial, fact-based investigations into local matter cases as assigned by the Ethics Risk & Compliance and/or the SUO functions, across all business functions and at all levels of seniority.<br>• Drive Global Security programs to advance data access, data analytics and data processing systems and further develop a remote investigations capabilities in the region.<br>• Direct and manage investigations into other internal and external security threats which involve or could impact upon Novartis (e.g., extortion, blackmail, bribery, extremism). First responder to a Kidnap for Ransom incident in the region and regional contact for global event notification or other security incidents.<br>• Organize and oversee executive protection for the Executive Committee of Novartis and Board of Directors when at meeting venues across the region. Drive collaboration with key internal business stakeholders (e.g. Litigation and other legal functions, SUO, ERC, Quality, Novartis Operations, Public Affairs) and relevant external competent authorities and legal entities, for enforcement action and capacity-building. <br>• Set exemplary professional standards and adhere to governance protocols for investigations and security operations, in accordance with SUO and Global Security guidance. Champion professional investigation training across the region and deliver modular training courses and mentoring in conjunction with the SUO, using a proprietary Global Security investigation training syllabus (i.e. for associates assigned misconduct cases).<br>• Position Global Security as best-in-class for investigations operational excellence and expand established networks across a range of competent authorities. Promote the department through championing the Novartis culture, representing Global Security as a dependable, authentic business partner that provides essential, value-added services.<br>• Record and track all casework in line with Global Security protocols and measure performance of the region by way of qualitative impact and return on investment for the business. Support anti-falsified medicines activities in the region as required.<br><br>While Novartis does not require vaccination at this time, for certain Novartis sites in the US all associates and candidates may be required to either upload an image of their COVID-19 vaccine card demonstrating proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 (or other similar evidence of vaccination) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken by the associate or candidate within the past seven days to enter any of our sites and/or customer office or healthcare facility, as well as prior to participating in other work related off-site meetings.
