Java Security Content Developer

Your Role and Responsibilities
This position is for a Java and Security Content Developer supporting the back-end development of new and existing features and the security content development of various RDBMS systems.
This role encompasses the full skillset requirements of a Java developer from development and production support. This candidate will interface with other teams and must have good communication and solid trouble shooting skills.
- The successful candidate is a self-starter who possesses a sense of task/issue ownership, is thorough in resolving difficult issues and work toward completions.
- The successful candidate is a team player who can work successfully with peers and different development and support teams of varying technical levels in complex environments. A strong ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately on-demand in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment is a must have skillset.
- The successful candidate has a support mentality with an understanding of customer’s engagement protocols and client alignment.
- Responsible for complete software development life cycle including requirement analysis, design, development, deployment, and support.
- Write clean, testable, readable, scalable, and maintainable code that scales and performs well for thousands of customers.
- Participate actively and contribute to design and development discussions.
- Develop industry best security solutions for multi cloud/hybrid cloud and container environments by leveraging the advanced cloud native technologies.
- Research CIS and STIG benchmarks for the development of Database Vulnerability Assessment content. In cases where a CIS or STIG benchmark does not exist, the ability to research and analyze the Database vendors security documentation and recommend security best practices.
- While the candidate need not have system-administrator-level expertise in all of *nix OS variants, the candidate must possess a working-level knowledge of *nix variants and be comfortable with navigating and troubleshooting *nix variants.
- We need a person with a strong work ethic who can self-manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a customer support attitude, be able to research and troubleshoot problems reasonably independently as well as part of a team. A high degree of initiative and self-development is expected. This person will be part of the Java development team that supports in-house requirements for internal development, system test and support.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum 5-8+ solid years of Java development experience.
- Minimum 2-3+ experience in having developed Cloud-based applications. Comfortable working with Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI, etc.)
- Minimum 2-3+ years of ANSI SQL knowledge and experience in both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge in 2 or more of the following database types: (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Cloudera, DB2, Sybase, Informix, Teradata, MySQL, PostgreSQL, HP Vertica, Greenplum, MongoDB, SAP Hana, MariaDB).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, working effectively with development, system test and support teams.
- Scripting skills in Perl and Shell.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Linux/Unix basic administration skills are preferred. Must be comfortable enough with the vi and vim editors.
- Experience in security configuration using LDAP, TLS/SSL, and Kerberos.
- VM experience since majority of the database servers are virtual machines.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
