Our business helps support their way of life and contributes to the survival of a culture that has thrived in a challenging environment.**Job summary:** Provide supervisory oversight to front line unarmed security guard staff and conduct security, safety, and security guards job performance inspections for compliance in temporary shelters for unaccompanied migrant children.**Job description:** Akima Global Services (AGS) LLC, has requirements for temporary, intermittent unarmed security guard services for an Unaccompanied Childrens (UC) Shelter Center in El Paso, TX. Guards provide security patrols, access control, security related escort duties, traffic and parking control, security and safety response, and surveillance. Security Guards report to an immediate Supervisor who provides instruction and direction. Supervisors oversee all operations for his/her assigned shift; ensure all supervisors are on post and properly supervising guards and activities, including maintaining proper counts throughout the facility; ensure all posts are properly staffed by approved security officers, monitor daily activity of the security staff for the shift assigned, and ensure that all security staff perform assigned duties in accordance with policy and procedure. Supervisors report to the Security Captain also known as the Assistant Security Manager.**Job responsibilities** :The duties of the Security Supervisor for the HHS/ORR Unaccompanied Childrens Shelter Center include but are not limited to the following:+ Ensure all supervisors and staff are properly relieved+ Monitor and witness all sign in/sign out entries; verify accuracy; and sign timesheets+ Ensure daily security operations of the facility are conducted within established policy and procedure+ Manage staff incidents, including reporting all infractions to the Project Manager and/or Captain+ Respond to any critical incident within the facility.+ Open and Close posts according to daily operational needs.+ Monitor facility security through use of control center cameras, roving patrols, and post security checks.+ Ensure the security of the facility, shelter care residents, employees, and visitors by securing and protecting personnel and property through placement of security guards at established posts with no missed post assignments.+ Ensuring all posts are properly relieved as required for breaks and shift changes.+ These responsibilities continue until relieved by the oncoming Supervisor.+ Report all violations of orders you must enforce.+ Give the alarm in case of disorder or emergency.+ Report unusual events that threaten the security of the center or endangers life or property.+ Take reasonable counteraction to save life and property or lessen danger.+ Perform post inspections including guard knowledge of post orders, uniforms, neatness/cleanliness of area, logbook entries, no damage to any security devices/controls+ Conduct physical and electronic surveillance in all areas of assigned responsibility.+ Provide for traffic control when required+ Maintain checklists and checkpoints throughout your assigned shift.**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications:**+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.+ Must be at least 21 years of age.+ Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.+ Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.+ Must have two years of experience as a supervisor in a security or law enforcement operation+ Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.+ Must have intermediate English writing skills, including ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms;+ Bi-Lingual ability to speak and understand Spanish is considered a positive factor;+ Must possess a Texas State Security Guard Card;+ Must be able to pass all training and obtain all required certifications.+ Must be able to pass a company background investigation to include criminal, credit and driving record, and fingerprint checks.+ Pass Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check.+ Must possess a valid TX State Drivers License+ Must meet client suitability.**Physical Requirements:****Common Critical Tasks** : Normal, everyday duties.+ Supervise and monitor the performance of security guards performing daily security tasks+ Conduct facility inspections to ensure no security risks (e.g. broken locks, holes in fences, etc.)+ Ensure that security guards are conducting activities in accordance with training and within policy+ Ensure all required posts have coverage every shift+ Ensure breaks are being given on schedule+ When posts close, move staff to where needed or send them home+ Review, ensure accuracy and provide assistance with grammar, spelling, and punctuation+ Oversee security guards as they record timesheet entries+ Approve timesheets+ Develop shift schedules**Occasional Critical Tasks** : Occur less frequently, but critical to job performance and public safety.+ Locate and review documents and information (e.g., logs, lists); read memos and other written material to obtain and maintain knowledge; review maps, floor plans, diagrams, or other information to become familiar with facility and property boundaries.+ Use defensive tactics to prevent or control movements of individuals (Does not apply to UCs);+ Subdue violent persons with or without assistance; break up fights (Does not apply to UCs);+ Evacuate individuals from dangerous and/or life threatening situations;+ Ability to kneel and stand up without assistance (searches, rendering assistance to someone who is down);+ Administer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR);+ Run to an incident to render assistance;**General Physical Hazards**+ Security Supervisors will be exposed to a wide variety of environmental conditions including, but not limited to: working outdoors, excessive heat/cold, constant noise, slippery or uneven walking surfaces, working around moving objects or vehicles, shifts lasting eight or more hours, frequent, close contact with members of the public, potential threats or security risks, whether physical or verbal, and construction environment and associated hazards+ Security Supervisors will have to walk across the campus to perform rounds, monitor staff, conduct post inspections, etc. multiple times during a shift (average 3/4 mile to go from campus end to end)The duties and responsibilities listed in this job description generally cover the nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
