You will apply your technical skills to find the balance between enabling and securing the client's organization with the cognitive solutions that are making IBM the fastest growing enterprise security business in the world.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Federal Service Sector consulting practice is a trusted advisor to federal, state and local governments, partnering to meet challenges and responding quickly to citizen demands, business needs, new economic conditions, and changing legislative priorities and policies.In this exciting role, you will be responsible assisting Tier 1 SOC Analysts with potential and confirmed security incident investigations and forensics.+ You will perform deep dive investigations into security events that are escalated by Tier 1 SOC Analyst as well as assist with security incident identification, research and resolution.+ This may involve assisting with monitoring, threat hunting, tracking, and analyzing networks/systems for potential security violations/anomalies and responding to all such incidents.+ You will work with other security team members and system administrators to investigate potential security violations, respond, and report accordingly.+ This position is part of the IBM Managed Shared Services (MSS) Security Operations Center (SOC) which is responsible for the delivery of SOC security services operating 24x7x365 supporting US Federal, DoD and State and Local clients Public Sector clients+ You will be working with both internal IBM teams as well as clients to investigate and resolve security incidents.+ As it is part of a 24x7x365 team, this position will be part of an on-call rotation for support after hours in the event of a security incident.+ 70% of time - Security incident investigation, event correlation, forensics.+ 20% of time - Cyber hunt, event monitoring, report generation, documentation+ 10% of time - Mentoring Tier 1 and Tier 2 SOC Analysts+ Security Clearance: Active DoD SecretIf you are hired into a Colorado work location, the anticipated compensation range for the position ($102,000.00 to 158,000.00) is based on a full time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience.
