What you’ll be doing...

Exciting opportunities exist within the Verizon Signature Sales solution architect organization. As a Distinguished Security Principal (DSP), you will be an integral part of a talented team collaborating with our partners and C-Level decision makers in the Signature segment on their cybersecurity strategies and transformation. The DSP is a high-impact role working closely with our partners, account teams and client’s to identify and qualify opportunities and design security solutions to address their unique challenges focused on business outcomes.

The Distinguished Security Principal will develop and execute a cybersecurity strategy across Verizon’s key System Integrators, Software Partners, and Signature Segment clients representing some of the largest and most iconic brands in the world. In addition, collaborating with the field sales organization, sales architects, product management and key constituents. At Verizon, we do much more than sell technology. Verizon Business Group is looking for an individual with both sales and technical experience to serve in a senior role on the leadership team. The DSP is a direct report to the Head of Signature Cybersecurity sales and is among our highest individual contributor roles. You will engage and collaborate with all relevant internal & external security technology partners to maximize value of the Verizon cybersecurity product portfolio. Also, maintain sales discipline and leverage a well thought out strategy and or vertical management plan to allow for rapid delivery & development improving sales velocity, efficiency and productivity. The DSP is viewed as a cybersecurity thought leader working with C-Level executives of the largest most well-known brands in the world.

  • Anticipate future technology, marketplace trends and business evolution and integrates solutions into business strategy.
  • Negotiate with C-Level leaders to influence business strategy and direction.
  • Demonstrate leadership across organizations within Verizon and 3rd Party Partners to develop a homogenous solution to meet the desired end to end customer solution.
  • Challenge the account teams to think outside of normal processes and should demonstrate leadership qualities within their own team.
  • Work with legal & compliance department(s) to guide and lead the recommended solutions through contract negotiations in the interest of closing new business.
  • Gather and consolidate market observations and market trends.
  • Act as a delegate of the Head of Signature Cybersecurity for Executive Briefings, meetings and other duties.
  • Establish technology project frameworks and best practices. These may include collaboration programs, digital roadmap programs, process improvement programs, technical workflow development and knowledge share programs.
  • Work on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible factors.
  • Exercise leadership and judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation of criteria for obtaining results.
  • Ensure budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Ensure that the established sales plans on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis for all established targets are met or exceeded.
  • Generate enough activity within the sales plan to: ensure projected new sales are forecasted, builds a solid funnel per segment standards, and displays the ability to accurately forecast sales.
  • Travel to customer sites, partner locations, conferences, and other related events as required.
  • Collaborate with our many partners in the security space including Tanium, Recorded Futures, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, RSA, etc.
  • Work with the Verizon Channel team members to drive indirect business through local and national partners. Work locally with strategic partners.
  • Work with the dedicated Verizon Security Specialist to sell into their base of customers.
  • Work with the Client Services team to upsell existing clients.
  • This position can be located in other valid Verizon domesticlocations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience as a technical sales engineer in an IT infrastructure environment or equivalent experience in a Client-facing or IT staff role (including working as a member of a professional services or IT engineering team).
  • Four or more years experience as a Security Solutions Architect.
  • Four or more years of experience managing revenue-generating and cost-management initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • MA/MS in business or technology.
  • Formally served as a SVP of Information Technology or CISO.
  • Team lead or Project Management experience on a strategic long-term project.
  • Industry certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, PCIP, CEH, GCIH, GPEN, CCSK, Security+.
  • Technology certifications: Cisco, BlueCoat, CheckPoint, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Splunk, Tanium.
  • Knowledge of WAN technologies, (4G/5G, M2M/IoT, MEC, SDWAN & SDP).
  • Experience architecting IT infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Subject Matter Expertise & certifications in Software Defined Networks, Cloud, Security or Unified Communications.
  • Advanced design and experience in networking, applications and security.
  • Large scale outsourcing/out-tasking experience.
  • Strong technical acumen of the Cyber Security market.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including executive level communications and experience creating proposals, design summaries and presentations.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing C-level relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate business acumen in presenting solutions on an ROI basis, strategies, successful penetration of new accounts, and building successful client relationships across an entire spectrum of buyers, influencers and C-Level decision makers across a broad spectrum of solutions.
