What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Security Principal will be part of Verizon’s Corporate Information Security (CIS) Cyber Defense Team, which plays a crucial role in defending Verizon from current and future cyber threats. The Senior Principal will serve as the Architect and oversee Cyber Defense Security User and Entity Behavior Analytics Platform (UEBA) Platform. The will be directly responsible for overseeing the entire platform. The Senior Principal will have oversight of both the tactical day to day functions and long-term strategies for the platform. The Senior Principal will work closely with the vendor and various internal towers as well as cross-organizational teams on design, development, and use of the system.

The Senior Principal will also serve as the technical lead for the platform. You should also be responsible for, but not limited to: scripting, change management, hardware support, workflow development, developing documentation, use-case development, and model training.

You will have worked directly with a market leading UEBA platform and have experience serving an architect role. They need to be able to understand and solve business problems while managing associated risks and compliance requirements.

  • Supporting the UEBA Platform both from an integration standpoint, hardware support, and the front- end application.
  • Writing scripts to enhance and automate process.
  • Developing 1, 2, and 3 year strategic plans for the platform.
  • Maintaining direct and regular interaction with organizational stakeholders to ensure system is working and meeting defined requirements
  • Developing and delivering regular training sessions for Cyber Defense Team, and other security originations within Verizon that utilize the platform on new use-cases.
  • Developing and implementing strong capacity management program for the platform.
  • Developing integrations between the tool systems, ticketing platform, and UEBA platform.
  • Evaluating new features of the product to build out new capabilities for the platform, which can be shared across the various security organizations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years directly related to UEBA platforms.
  • One or more years in an Architect Role for a UEBA platform.
  • Experience in scripting languages (Python, Perl).
  • Splunk experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Security or similar discipline is preferred.
  • Five or more years of industry related experience.
  • Professional certifications to include CEH, CISSP, SANS GCIA, or CISM.
  • Experience with other SIEM technologies (e.g. ArcSight) and SOAR Platforms.
  • Previous experience working with SaaS environments.
  • Experience with security products (e.g. Crowdstrike, Threatstream).
  • Experience in investigating and quantifying long running trends in the enterprise environment.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and identify gaps.
  • Proactive in engaging with customers, client executives and other Verizon teams.
