The ever-evolving Cyber landscape requires the development of innovative technical solutions to support operational cyber missions through research, engineering, and development. The ISR MEP/PED Systems Division at Leidos currently has an opening for a Cyber Security Engineer in Hurlburt Field, FL.
The selected candidate will serve as a member of an Engineering Team and support multiple projects across the division, focused on the cyber security of mission systems within or in support of aircraft platforms. As a subject matter expert you will inject into each phase of the Systems Development Lifecycle to include but not limited to design, integration, testing, and associated documentation. Primary duties are technically hands on and include standup and maintenance of vulnerability and compliance scanning tools, performing security scans, report development and analysis, and development of technical solutions and documentation.
The individual will have a strong background in cyber security engineering or related information technology field.
Primary Responsibilities:
Utilizing compliance and vulnerability security scan tools (e.g. ACAS, SCC), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), NIST RMF workflows and processes
Generates and analyzes security reports and briefing to customer and company leadership
Develop technical and written solutions to cyber security vulnerabilities (e.g. AD Group Policy, Local Security Policy, Windows/Unix scripts, documented mitigations)
Assists ISSM in the development and maintenance of multiple accreditation packages
Contributes to pre, peri, and post Security Control assessments
Assists with other IA compliance activities as directed by supervisor
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or related discipline and five (5) years of prior relevant experience
Active DOD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Hands on experience with compliance and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g. ACAS, SCC, Nessus)
Hands on experience with developing and integrating technical security solutions
Experience with NIST RMF SP 800-53
Proficient with MS Office products to include Visio
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Proficient interpersonal skills as part of a team and capable of working independently
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% annually
DoD 8570 certifications of IAT Level II or higher or IAM Level I or higher (e.g. Security+ CE, CISSP, CISM)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with virtualized environments, multi-level security solutions, and cross domain solutions
