Job Responsibilities:

  • The Law Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME) shall draft policy related to federal law enforcement operations and will work with DOJ to propose updates and frequently meet with partners. The Policy SME will provide advice on proposed operational and administrative policies on topics related to agency operations.
  • The Policy SME shall organize and support meetings required by the government. This support shall include scheduling, drafting presentation materials, conducting briefings, and other related activities.
  • The Policy SME shall assist with producing substantive and administrative updates to policy documents, ensuring that the document is effectively managed and kept current. This includes identifying potential issues and inconsistencies with other policies.
  • The Policy SME will provide advice on proposed operational and administrative policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility for consideration.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent experience in a related field; Juris Doctorate Degree highly preferred. A minimum of 20 years in DOJ and USIC management and legislative oversight.
  • Knowledge and 3 years’ experience assisting in updating the DIOG, DIOG-related policies, and internal FBI policies.
  • Minimum 5 years, participating in working groups and providing input on policy- related matters.
  • Minimum 5 years, in information sharing between USIC agencies.
  • Minimum 10 years, with FBI investigations (criminal and national security).
  • Experience with drafting policy on a wide range of topics pertaining to law enforcement operations.
  • Knowledge of the Attorney General guidelines (AGG).
  • Experience working effectively with DOJ and USIC agencies in relation to information sharing.
  • Ability to work independently, providing detailed analysis and recommendations to FBI personnel at the senior executive level.
  • Familiar with the intelligence policies and procedures within the FBI, DOJ, and ODNI; experience participating in working groups and providing input on policy-related matters.
  • Extensive knowledge regarding and experience with FBI investigations (criminal and national security matters).

Posted Salary Range

165,000 - 175,000
