Verizon and Greenberg Traurig LLP are seeking two Scholars for their paid Summer 2024 Verizon/Greenberg Traurig HBCU Pre-Law Internship Program. Eligible candidates must be a current student enrolled full-time, in good academic standing, at one of the U.S. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Candidates must also be planning to apply to law school within one year after graduation from the HBCU they are currently attending.

What you'll be doing...

From internships and co-ops to leadership development programs and entry-level roles, Verizon's award-winning Campus program allows you to take the next step toward shaping your future. Our Campus program has been recognized with awards like WayUp's Top 100 Internship Programs and RippleMatch's Campus Forward Award. Why the accolades? It's easy. We quickly immerse our interns in meaningful work and projects that deliver tangible business impact. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to network with V Teamers across the globe, find mentors, and establish meaningful friendships that could last a lifetime. Start here and go anywhere, with opportunities across the business. When students like you join the V Team, our network becomes even stronger.

This program will introduce you to the complex nature of in-house legal practice at Verizon along with access to the variety of practice areas and innovative client strategies of Greenberg Traurig, a major international law firm. During this 10-week internship program, you will spend the first half of your summer at Verizon's corporate offices in Alpharetta, GA, Basking Ridge, NJ, or Washington, D.C, and the latter half at Greenberg Traurig's Atlanta, GA, Florham Park, NJ, or Washington, D.C. offices.

Right from the start, you'll contribute to meaningful projects in Verizon's in-house legal department. After five weeks as a Verizon intern, you will report to Greenberg Traurig as an intern for the remaining five weeks. You will be exposed to a variety of work assignments from different practice areas at Greenberg Traurig. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the best attorneys in the legal field. What you learn during these two back-to-back internships will help you grow both professionally and personally.

After the internship is successfully completed, you'll become part of Verizon's Intern Alumni Network, with the opportunity to remain connected with your assigned mentor, exposure to top law firms, and inclusion in Verizon's annual alumni events.

In the hybrid Verizon portion of your internship, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship will be located in Alpharetta, GA, Basking Ridge, NJ, or Washington, D.C.

If you are interested in other roles and locations in addition to this one, please submit your application to those postings as well in order to be considered.
