Responsibilities

James F. Butler & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking attorneys to join the Jericho NY office. Selected candidates will join one of our Trial teams and will be responsible for handling a high-volume caseload from discovery stage through trial. Competitive candidates will demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of civil procedure along with evidence and trial procedures. The selected candidate will possess outstanding research abilities, written and oral advocacy skills, and will be well organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to independently manage a busy time sensitive caseload.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of experience (insurance defense litigation/trial a plus)
  • Experience working in a paperless environment
  • Experience directing support staff on clerical and administrative matters related to lawsuit handling
  • Strong automation/technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation
  • Additional Information:
  • Law degree from ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
  • An active license to practice law in New York and be a member in good standing with the state bar
  • Selected candidates would join our Trial Team at our Jericho CLC office
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.
