We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, who are innovators in search of a better way, and who believe in inclusion.Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us _Feed the Future,_ and grow your career.Reports to the General Counsel, Retail.**What you will do:**+ Advise management on legal issues arising in relation to transactions, litigation and financing matters+ Advise members of the business on variety of business issues that arise quickly+ Assist with regulatory, compliance, licensing and policy issues+ Assist with drafting and negotiating contracts and other commercial documents+ Partner with employees in Product Development, Nutrien Financial, Sustainability, and Marketing to successfully drive the initiatives they are championing+ Manage legal costs in connection with external legal services+ Give strategic legal advice to business partners and management+ Travel within North America and potentially, occasionally, abroad as necessary for meetings and other work**What you will bring:**+ Be a member of an Association Bar in the U.S. with the requirements to become a member of the Colorado Bar Association+ Ten+ years of practice experience required+ Corporate counsel experience would be a strong asset+ Ability to hit the ground running and, in order to do so, will need to arrive at Nutrien with a well-developed set of skills and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with others+ Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and be commercially astute in addition to being a leader+ Broad legal background, experience in transactional, banking and/or financial law would be an asset+ Basic knowledge of one or more of the following areas would be a plus: litigation, intellectual property, environmental, real estate and sustainability law+ Abiliy to effectively manage tight timelines and balance competing priorities+ Business, tax or financial acumen is attractive+ Being a highly effective, practical lawyer with a track record of value creation is desired**Compensation & Benefits:**The salary range for this position is $139,650 to $199,500.We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition, we have a retirement program that encourages our employees to save for the longer term, with generous matching employer contributions.
