The Legal Analyst will support Stryker's internal Employment Legal Team. The Legal Analyst will be responsible for drafting, providing correspondence, developing legal contracts and letters of agreement, and other legal documents. The Legal Analyst will perform simple legal research to assist the legal team to prepare accurate and timely reports, legal advice, case files, and other legal documents. The Legal Analyst will organize and oversee legal files and materials so that they are easily accessed and retrieved without compromising the confidentiality or privacy of the information they contain.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare responses to employment records subpoenas
  • Prepare employment agreements and forms as requested by the Employment team
  • Prepare and send correspondence as requested by the Employment team
  • Schedule meetings as requested by the Employment team, including the weekly Competitive Hire call and all related communications
  • Serve as liaison between Legal and HR function regarding processes and procedures
  • Maintain and update employment templates, including library of form language for employment contracts, agreements, and letters
  • Assist in implementing codes for billing purposes
  • Billing Guideline Reviewer for claims
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely issuance of settlement checks
  • Serve as a liaison between Payroll, Accounts Payable, Tax and Finance for settlement payments
  • Act as liaison between outside counsel and internal departments
  • Monitor CT Corporation mailbox for service of process and route all employment claims and employment subpoenas for assignment
  • Assist with matter management by ensuring claims are opened in Legal Tracker and Legal Holds are issued, where appropriate
  • Provide general administrative support to Employment team
  • Cross-training to support the Litigation team on employment litigation matters
  • Other duties as assigned by Employment team

Education and special trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Qualifications and experience:

  • 2+ years of work experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required

Physical and mental requirements:

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication and follow-up skills required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to anticipate issues before they arise and seek improvements to processes/systems, as well as take ownership of project through to completion
  • Must be able to prioritize assignments and work with deadlines
  • Can work independently or with limited direction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines
  • Must be able to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies
