Legal Intern
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a summer Legal Intern to assist its in-house legal department with a wide array of issues. Essential responsibilities include the following:
- Research and analyze legal questions and prepare briefings and memoranda
- Prepare and review/edit other written legal product, including briefs, agreements, filings, and communications
- Provide support on a range of legal topics, including government contracting, labor & employment, and commercial business
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested
Minimum Requirements
- Currently in good standing in pursuit of a JD from an ABA-accredited university with at least one year of classes completed prior to Summer 2022
- Must have completed a bachelors degree
- Ability to handle sensitive data
- Excellent communicator with strong legal drafting skills
- Ability to work efficiently while balancing and meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who is able to research and learn new concepts quickly
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the legal field
- Ability to draft complex legal documents and perform basic word processing
- Ability to apply and/or interpret complex legal issues
