PK Sciences (PKS) is a global organization of about 300 associates, situated within Translational Medicine (TM), the clinical research arm of NIBR. PK Sciences plays a pivotal role in bringing innovative medicines to patients, by building on research advances to develop new therapies, bridging drug discovery and clinical application. PK Science is an enterprise organization, working across both NIBR and the Global Drug Development (GDD) organizations to advance the scientific knowledge of pharmacokinetics, metabolism and clinical pharmacology from discovery through approval and beyond.<br><br>As the Director, Clinical PBPK within the Modeling & Simulation (M&S) group in PK Sciences you will develop and apply translational physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling along with data analysis techniques to facilitate drug discovery, development, and translational research across disease areas.<br><br>Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:<br>• PBPK modeling to integrate in vitro and in vivo data for drug-drug interaction (DDI) assessments and pharmacokinetic (PK) predictions in humans as well as in specific populations (e.g. disease, organ impairment, pediatrics). <br>• Utilize physiologically based biopharmaceutics modeling (PBBM) to understand the interrelationships of physicochemical properties of the drug, the dosage form, route of administration and prandial state on the rate and extent of systemic availability. <br>• You will also continuously advance the use of PBPK modeling throughout the organization, contribute to the strategic direction of its use, and provide mentorship in this area. The role intends for the individual to be able to lead broader PKS initiatives and represent the group on internal boards.<br><br><br>Vaccine Policy: While Novartis does not require vaccination at this time, for certain Novartis sites in the US all associates and candidates may be required to either upload an image of their COVID-19 vaccine card demonstrating proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 (or other similar evidence of vaccination) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken by the associate or candidate within the past seven days to enter any of our sites and/or customer office or healthcare facility, as well as prior to participating in other work related off-site meetings.
