With a strong medicines pipeline our current trans-formation will not just deliver growth for our business but continue to allow us to bring innovative medicines to patients quickly.<br><br>The Associate Director, Full Stack Software Developer will be responsible for designing and developing front-end web applications, backed information retrieval, and API design and integration for the Real-World Evidence & Medical Intelligence (RWE&MI) applications. This role will be a critical member of the software team and will collabo-rate with UX, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, DevOps, and Quality Assurance teams.<br><br>The RWE&MI information products and applications support the strategic initiatives of Medical Affairs and Population Health and Account Management (PHAM) teams to create information products (that utilize epidemiology, health economics, statistics, and machine learning) and solutions focused on improving clinical care delivery. This includes utilizing large licensed Real-World Data Novartis assets and co-development initiatives with hospital systems.<br><br><b>Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: </b> <br>• Development of RWE&MI Front-End Website / Applications – You will be responsible for the design of user inter-active website/application architecture and flow and ensure the responsiveness of the application by meeting both technical and user needs by creating cloud-based application (AWS, Google, Azure) functions in all tiers and for all maturity stages. Apply frontend concepts and frameworks (HTML, CSS, Less, Sass, and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React and Amber) and JavaScript ecosystem. <br>• Develop Information Retrieval Systems - Work closely with the Information Architect to develop business logic and information retrieval capabilities. Design and develop application program interfaces (APIs). Partner with the Software Architect and Information Architect to implement best practice software concepts of Data Modeling, Data Storage and Retrieval utilizing fit for purpose databases (SQL, NoSQL, File Systems, Hadoop Distributed File Systems (HDFS), etc..).<br>• Leadership in Full Stack Software Engineering Development – Utilize Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Soft-ware Engineering, Data Modeling, Interface & Protocol Design. Work with the Software Architect to provide Full Stack software engineering, data engineering and development by utilizing Python, Java, Scala, C#, C++. <br>• Team Leadership in Software Practice – Provide software leadership and support and mentor team members in soft-ware best practices. Incorporate agile development processes and environments supported by Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines. Apply software testing practices (Test Driven Design, TDD; Behavior Driven Design, BDD), load testing and application performance tuning. <br>• Able to develop a strategic vision by integrating needs of diverse constituencies, scientific considerations and market knowledge to produce best in class results. Demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in addressing strategic challenges.<br>• A world class team player with highly attuned interpersonal skills, strong team building motivational, collaboration and influencing skills necessary to achieve desired outcomes in a matrix, cross-functional environment. This is a US based position. No international relocation will be provided for this position.<br><br>This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result.
