The Associate Director, Marketing Strategist Rheumatology will be responsible for defining the Patient and HCP marketing strategy for the rheumatology brands and supporting the Marketing Directors for these brands. Activities include the delivery of key strategic analyses and outputs to inform customer experience planning and execution within the Integrated Marketing & Customer Experience, US Organization. This individual will report directly into an ED Marketing Strategy that oversees Rheumatology, partnering closely with this Lead, along with the HCP/Patient Marketers and other strategic partners, to ensure that strategy and concepts are effectively orchestrated into customer centric campaigns, tactics and experiences. The Marketer will be responsible for identifying, testing, and validating creative concepts and messaging architecture, and creating assets, including brochures and advertisements. This role will identify, share and embed best practices across the Marketers to improve impact and create communities of practice on effective and impactful patient marketing.

Major Accountabilities

• Work effectively with the ED Marketing Strategy SPOC and other marketers to develop a cohesive and integrated brand marketing strategy and campaign grounded in customer insight for growth brands

• Establish brand-specific domain expertise, and create engaging brand centered content and concepts for adaption into personalized and tailored experiences

• Share and embed knowledge on best practices to engage customers and change behaviors

• Implement best in class digital marketing strategies that align to brand goals and maximize business results.

• Ensure digital plans are appropriately implemented and optimized.

• Foster a high performing team that proactively and effectively interfaces across key functions to achieve the product strategies and objectives

• Support and deliver the integrated plan for the brand to achieve the Product strategy and objectives; define resourcing required and managing the allocated budget, collaborating effectively across strategic partners including NPS, Access and Communications and Engagement

• Drive excellence in developing through domain expertise to enable adaptation across the end-end experience, partnering closely with the Customer Experience Planning and Optimization team

• Provide business requirements and input into selecting the agency (AoR) for brand marketing and partner with Operations to maximize agency relationship(s)

• Collaborate with Product and Global teams on integrated plan and lead asset(s), as appropriate

About the role :

To lead the US Allergy Medical Affairs team within the Immunology Therapeutic Area.

• US Medical Affairs Strategic Leadership - Co-lead US Allergy strategy for a pre-launch product with multi-blockbuster potential. Partner and align with US and Global stakeholders (Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Product Team and Commercial).

• US Medical Affairs Tactical Execution - Oversee Medical tactical execution, including US pre-launch execution and clinical trial recruitment. Manage day-to-day team operations. En-sure excellence in execution, including accountabilities for timeliness and effective budget management.

• External Engagement - Serve as the external voice of US Allergy at Novartis. Drive external partnerships with Medical Experts, Investigators, Professional Societies, Organized Provid-ers, etc.

• US Clinical Trial Recruitment - Identify and solve for barriers to successful US clinical trial recruitment for US-driven research and Development-driven LCM indications, working in co-ordination with US Clinical Operations, Field Medical, and other key stakeholders.

• Organizational Leadership - Drive changes in ways of working per recent organizational changes, including new CoE structures. Serve as the voice of US Allergy Medical Affairs within Novartis, including interactions with Medical and Commercial senior leadership. Antici-pate and proactively solve for organizational and business needs, aligning with key stake-holders.

• Health Economics & Outcomes Research – Develop strong understanding of pay-er/systems needs for compelling health outcomes and real-world evidence (RWE) to support reimbursement/access for patients. Support data generation and external engagement to ad-dress those needs.

• Business Development & Licensing/New Products - Serve as the primary US Medical Af-fairs point of contact for Allergy BD&L opportunities.

• Develop Talent/Build Culture - Serve as core member of the US Immunology Medical Af-fairs Leadership Team. Create deep talent pipeline by identifying, attracting and developing a best-in-class US Medical Affairs team. Coach and build technical and leadership skills among team members, in line with Novartis Leadership aspiration. Cultivate an inclusive, high-performance environment that values and leverages diversity of thinking, style and experiences.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $158,400.00 and $237,600.00 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

This position will be located at our East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely.

Role Requirements

Education

(minimum/desirable): Bachelor’s degree in related field is required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial Marketing with multi-functional experience in Pharmaceutical or Healthcare preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience of leveraging data, analytics, and customer insights to drive personalization at scale in the US Market

• Experience in supporting high performing brands in highly competitive categories within the US

• Transformational Leader with strategic experiences to transform the business into next generation engagement

• Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and teams including Product, Communications, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance and Global

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines
