Supply Chain Management Associate Director
Job Description
Overall responsible for managing production & replenishment planning, and procurement of materials. The Supply Chain Management team in De Soto, KS consist of 5 colleagues, for which the Associate Director has the responsibility. Interaction with both Global Supply Chain Management as well as Commercial organizations globally to optimize customer value, effectively manage product flow, production schedules and inventory levels.

Key Functions

Responsible for defining, planning, and coordinating the scope of services provided within the Department of Supply Chain Management
Oversee the planning functions to ensure business processes/systems and metrics are in place to monitor the performance of Midterm planning | Shop floor scheduling | SAP master data accuracy | Inventory management | Capacity Constraints
Actively involved in establishing and communicating the organizations strategy and related goals for the business
As necessary, provide hands-on management to resolve issues affecting customers or cross-functional conflicts of priorities
Frequent interaction with marketing and manufacturing to coordinate and implement decisions regarding forecasting and inventory controls
Oversee the generation of production plans for manufacturing which follow sound lean manufacturing principles and maximize customer value
Review planning metrics to continuously improve customer value (Internal and external)
Initiate, participate, and document Value Stream Mapping activities
Manage projects using good project management skills to establish and improve supply chain management
Focus on maximizing customer value through total quality/continuous improvement initiatives to ensure stability in business and production processes, reducing lead times, improving the quality of both products and services and in reducing costs
Work with all departments on site in order to ensure that supply chain metrics are sustained, and performance is maintained at targeted levels
Present routine metrics to site and site leadership: Schedule stability (i.e. Production issues, forecast inaccuracies, etc.)
Make visible product supply status and future risks to supply
Ensure that site management is informed of capacity constraints that may impact product supply
Participate in addressing and resolving plant capacity issues
Actively participate and represent the manufacturing site in New-Product Introductions
Education
Bachelor of Science in Business or related field with seven plus years related industry experience
Required
Supervisory, production planning, project management and negotiation experience
Working understanding of lean manufacturing and lean planning principles
Strong and principled verbal and written communications
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience, preferably SAP
Preferred
GMP knowledge and experience
APICS certification or equivalent
