Manager R2R Financial Reporting & Accounting
The Manager Reporting role in the Record to Report (R2R) Employee Benefits (EB) Accounting and Reporting team is responsible for overseeing the accounting and reporting activities for EB processes including Payroll, Employee Benefit accruals, Pension, Share Based Compensation, Restructuring across all Divisions in the US. Specific responsibilities would also include but not be limited to: Month-end closings, approval of Account Reconciliations, and Journal entries and support the activities of the Associate Director and Director of the area. Works collaboratively with Divisional Financial Reporting and Accounting (FRA), Business Planning and Analysis (BPA) and EB organization.<br><br>• Lead month-end closing reporting process ensuring high quality financial statement footnote disclosures<br>• Complete monthly account analyses and account reconciliations<br>• Month-end financial closing and reporting process along with quarterly accounting requirements<br>• Ensure all processes and technical accounting summaries comply with Novartis standard policies and International Accounting Standards (IAS) (i.e. global processes, Novartis Accounting Manual, Novartis Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.)<br>• Leadership position in the EB Accounting & Reporting team responsible for employee benefits accounting issues including: select technical accounting, month-end closings, financial reporting, account reconciliations and liaison with internal and external auditors<br>• Prior experience/familiarity preferred with Pension, Short term Incentives, Long Term Incentives, Payroll accounting processes, Restructuring and Employee Benefits or demonstrated learned ability to understand and executed varied accounting topics<br>• Interact proactively with functional areas in the EB organization, Divisional Financial Reporting and Accounting (FRA), Business Planning and Analysis (BPA) and Group to ensure appropriate accounting and financial reporting is accomplished<br>• Proficient in working with ERP related systems (i.e: SAP, ADP payroll system, potential super user)<br>• Proficient in working with Financial Reporting tools<br>• Ensure quality of EB related financial disclosures (Financial Reporting detailed forms, footnotes for the annual report)<br>• Prepare or review Balance Sheet Review EB sections for select entities<br>• Provide informal managerial oversight to the senior accountants to ensure quality, adherence to controls framework and day to day issue resolution<br>• Support the team and business stakeholders (ad-hoc analyses and activities as needed)<br>• Project management capabilities to help support implementation of EB related system upgrades<br>• Participation in E2E process, controls mapping and execution of testing requirements for Employee Benefits, Payroll related systems or other application implementations<br>• Ability and experience in implementing process improvements (streamline data preparation; advanced use of Excel and other tools)<br><br>[#video#https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/ggbnzRY9z8w{#400,300#}#/video#]
