Snr Manager/AD, Product Strategy Insight - Medical Expert Engagement
Location: Midwest/Central USA #LI-Hybrid<br><br>About the Role: Novartis has a field-based opportunity covering the Midwest/Central US for a talented professional to join as a Senior Manager/Associate Director, Product Strategy Insight (PSI) - Non-Malignant Hematology. As a member of the General Management function, this key non-commercial role is responsible to develop and direct strategic projects for the collection and sharing of insights from Medical Experts (MEs) related to a disease area or treatment landscape, competitor data, and unmet needs, to support product strategy decisions that are guided by IPST (Integrated Product Strategy Team) discussions. This may also include trends and preferences in the market according to medical experts and may include gathering information related to products in the pre-approval stage as well as products currently on the market. The SM/AD PSI collaborates closely with the brand and product strategy team and other cross functional partners, including customer engagement, medical, market research, etc.<br><br>Key Responsibilities:<br>• Insights Generation: <br> - Seek and gather input/observations and insights from MEs, engaging in 1:1 or small group discussions with MEs to obtain specific knowledge, in-sights or advice. <br> - Develop/conduct ad boards and other consulting arrangements (with EOC approval) to obtain specific knowledge, insights or advice consistent with needs identified by GM and IPST. <br> - Assist with the management of Annual Consulting Budget Plan (ACBP) for all consulting engagements planned across Product and Marketing Strategy. <br> - Take full accountability for compliantly executing designated projects such as ad boards and, as appropriate and with proper approvals/governance, engage and con-tract MEs for content support.<br>• Share ME Insights with HQ teams to inform HQ-driven strategy/tactics and share decisions with customer-facing teams to inform local account planning and field (any function) associates’ interactions with the ME.<br>• Medical Expert (ME) Identification: identify, research, and interact with MEs to understand their area of expertise and qualifications to provide insights to Novartis. Periodically assess and document ME sentiment towards Novartis and specific marketed products.<br>• Lead development of Medical Expert (ME) plan for the disease area: develop ME interaction plans and related materials (e.g., schedule, assignments, biographies, objectives) for business discussions with NVS leadership externally (i.e. congresses, in the field) or internally (i.e. LRRs/on-site visits) in coordination with Medical. Collaborate appropriately with Field Medical and other cross functional partners to gather insights, coordinate interactions with Medical Experts to ensure a One Novartis approach to Medical Experts.<br>• Maintain a thorough understanding of product strategy and key business drivers and stay abreast of competitive environment and treatment paradigms.<br>• Attend local, regional and national medical meetings for the targeted disease area. Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as requested. <br><br>This position will cover the Midwest/Central US regions (subject to change) and can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.
