Eaton’s Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Plant Manager to join our team. This position is based in our Jackson, MI location.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

As an Executive and Plant Manager for Eaton’s Fluid Electrical Distribution Division you will be responsible for daily operations, safety, quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, and overall success of the site. The strategic direction, goals and processes/practices you create, and implement will drive the desired annual profit plan and long-term targets. You will cultivate a culture of inclusion, equity & diversity. The best practices your team identifies and implements will ultimately contribute to operational effectiveness and deliver exceptional business results. You will report directly to the Conveyance Business Director of Operations and have strategic oversight of 650+ employees. Your immediate team will include (8) direct reports across the manufacturing plant functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Sets overall plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with the Eaton Business System and our Leadership Model

• Coordinates and directs through managers, all functions of facility operations, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operational Excellence, Human Resources and Finance

• Aligns operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce

• Manages operating performance through the effective use of the Quality Operating System (QOS) process and structured problem solving

• Directs and mentors the Jackson leadership team in the performance of their respective roles and consistent with the Eaton Leadership Model

• Fosters an environment which promotes Eaton’s goals, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships

• Drives the compliance to our Ethics and Compliance policies and holds others accountable for ethical conduct

• Develops, controls, and critically reviews results of operation in reference to planned objectives

• Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the safety quality, efficiency, profitability, inventory, and environmental sustainability of the overall plant

• Maintains a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to Positive Employee & Labor Relations. Will partner closely with the local union to ensure the proper administration of the local collective bargaining agreement.

• Attracts, selects, develops, trains, coaches, appraises and motivates managers and other personnel for key staff positions and the facility

• Represents the company in the local community to enhance its image and reputation

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of progressive operations experience or experience in a manufacturing environment

• 5 or more years of management/supervisory experience

• Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of plant manager experience

• 3 or more years of aerospace experience

• 3 or more years of demonstrated experience partnering with a local union or equivalent labor relations experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of current manufacturing, materials/purchasing and quality assurance methods and practices

• Thorough understanding of financial practices and financial statements including: capital equipment analysis; cost accounting; budgeting; project cost analysis; maintenance analysis and organizational techniques

• Ability to drive change and successfully lead and implement these change initiatives

• Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports and build organizational capability

• Strong communication skills and comfort with facilitating teams/groups and working with all levels in the organization

Education:

• An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required

• An Advanced degree is preferred

Compensation:

The expected annual salary range for this role is $172500.03 - $253000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
