Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager. This opportunity is located at our facility in Sumter, SC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Our Purchasing Manager will support Cost-Out objective of the plant by working with all departments for all product lines and will interact cross functionally to assure inventory availability and customer satisfaction levels by determining the purchasing strategy.

  • Demonstrate project management skills in leading cross functional teams. Act as a lead and/or team member for VAVE, Cost Out, and NPI projects
  • Lead the purchasing strategy for the plant through engagement of the team and other functions to achieve cost out, SCM metrics, and VSM metrics
  • Champion supplier development (localization of products) across value streams
  • Develop and implement inventory reduction strategies (aligned with inventory entitlement)
  • Drive cost out projects and initiatives as needed to ensure plant targets are met
  • Ensure team compliance of Supply Chain Corporate metrics and goals
  • Own critical supplier relationships and leverage to meet plant metrics
  • Perform other strategic projects and tasks as delegated by the supply chain manager
  • Promote purchasing best practices and compliance to cross functional staff
  • Measure and track performance within spend category. Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management
  • Utilize formal benchmarking methods to determine best in class processes and drive improvement, work with Pune GSC CoE team to deploy the procurement excellence tools.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively, making the customer a priority.


Required (Basic) Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Five (5) years experience supporting manufacturing operations (i.e. Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering)

Preferred Qualifications

  • ERP system knowledge
  • Relevant work experience in a large multinational organization
  • Two (2)+ years’ experience managing people
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university
  • APICS or ISM certifications
