Part-time Assembler - 1st Shift (Tanker)

Eaton’s Electrical Power Systems division is currently seeking a Part-Time Assembler (Tanker)– 1st shift, to join our team. The hourly rate for this position starts at $20.60/hr, depending on experience. This position is based at our Lincoln Avenue facility in Waukesha, WI.

The core hours for this role can be:

  • Monday: 5 am - 2 pm and Tuesday 5 am - 3 pm OR
  • Thursday 5 am - 2 pm and Friday 5 am - 3 pm.
  • This position would work a max of 19 hours per week and does not offer health insurance benefits.

Position Overview:

The Tanker is responsible for tank substation and three-phase, pad-mounted transformers, making all necessary connections to bushings, switches, etc.

In this function you will:

  • Locate and move tanks, parts, and covers to the assembly area.
  • Assembles bushings and current transformers to cover or tank as specified.
  • Mount core and coil in tank and bolts in place. Clamps cover in place and make all electrical connections to bushings. Mount tap changers, switches, current transformers, and vacuum fault interrupters. Mechanically verifies the operation of all switches.
  • Locate and assemble all accessories, such as oil level gauges, thermometer, pressure-vacuum gauge, pressure relief device, etc. to the tank as specified.
  • Check all lead clearances inside the unit and assembles needed spacers and or insulating barriers as required.
  • Perform resistance testing on small pad-mounted transformers.
  • VFI, Load break switches.
  • Build CT’s, PT’s.
  • Build fuse racks.
  • Read blueprints and schematics
Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) or more years of electrical experience
  • Education in AC/DC fundamentals

Position criteria:

  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering and Operations documentation
  • Competency to read and interpret the Engineering and Operations documents and build the unit within the engineering standards.
  • Ability to use an assortment of hand tools, pneumatic, hydraulic, electric/battery operated tools, brazing tongs, MIG welder, and an assortment of hand and power crimpers
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
