Eaton’s Electrical Power Systems division is currently seeking an Assembler Transformers - Tanker - 2nd Shift to join our team! The hourly rate starts at $20.00/hour + $1.25/hr shift premium, depending on experience. The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm. This position is based at our Badger Drive facility in Waukesha, WI.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, less applicable withholding.

*Bonus terms:

• Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.
• Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.
• Bonuses will be payable in two installments: $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after three (3) months of employment and the remaining $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after nine (9) months of employment.

Position Overview:

The Assembler is responsible for the production of all types of 3-phase transformers in a continuous flow environment to meet the agreed-upon customer service requirements. You will be responsible for performing the various job functions as described in the job description at an acceptable level of efficiency and quality. Operators must be willing to perform various duties and assist all other team members as needed to meet production through the continuous flow line.

In this function, you will:

  • Locates and moves tanks, parts, and covers to assembly area.
  • Assembles bushings and current transformers to cover or tank as specified.
  • Mounts core and coil in tank and bolts in place. Clamps cover in place and makes all electrical connections to bushings. Mounts tap changer, switches, current transformers, and vacuum fault interrupters. Mechanically verifies the operation of all switches.
  • Locates and assembles all accessories, such as oil level gauges, thermometer, pressure-vacuum gauge, pressure relief device, etc. to the tank as specified.
  • Checks all lead clearances inside unit and assembles needed spacers and or insulating barriers as required.
  • Performs resistance testing on small pad-mounted transformers.
  • VFI, Load break switches.
  • Build CT’s, PT’s.
  • Build fuse racks.
  • Read blueprints and schematics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of electrical experience
  • Education in AC/DC fundamentals

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering and Operations documentation
  • The job requires the use of an assortment of hand tools, pneumatic, hydraulic, electric/battery operated tools, and an assortment of hand and power crimpers. The job also requires working on platforms and inside of the transformer tank, maneuvering in and out of tanks and manholes, and working in awkward positions.
