Manufacturing Laborer - Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC is looking to fill FIVE (5) Manufacturing Laborer positions in Chippewa Falls, WIto work approximately 04/01/2023 to 09/30/2023. This is a temporary, full-time, one-time occurrence position.

[Duties]: Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling furniture products. Perform quality checks on products and parts, repairing defects if possible or informing appropriate personnel of nonconforming parts. Set up and properly utilize jigs to assemble component parts. Record production information using a scanner, computer, or by hand. Operate or assist in operating machines and various hand tools used for assembly in accordance with standard operating procedures. Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, by hand or with use of assisting devices. Maintain and clean workstation, including jigs and equipment. Identify equipment or hand tool malfunctions and repair if possible or inform supervisor of problem. Move parts in and out of work area using proper equipment. Set up or adjust workstation to suit ergonomic needs. Participate in team meetings and training sessions and assist with training other employees. Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations.

[Requirements]: Must be able to work weekends.

[Terms & Conditions of Employment]: Fulltime - at least 35 hours per week. Monday - Thursday, 5:00PM - 3:00AM (4 days a week, 10 hours a day; hours may vary; may be required to work weekends).

Paidweekly, wages calculated each workweek. Workers will be paid no less than $16.57 per hour. Returning workers and workers with more experience may be paid higher wage rates (ranging from $16.57 to $21.35 per hour). Overtime will be paid at 1.5 times worker’s regular hourly pay ($24.86 to $32.03 per hour). Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law.

On-the-job training provided. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

[Lodging, Daily Transport, Deductions, Benefits]: Employer will negotiate discounted rates with local hotels for optional employee housing on a first-come, first-serve basis. Targeted cost per employee is $175.00 - $200.00 per week (reasonable cost) paid directly to hotel/landlord. All housing costs will be the responsibility of the employee directly with the landlord. Employer will provide employees who choose the optional housing with hotel’s contact information so that each employee can contact the hotel directly to make reservations and payments. Employees may be required to pay a weekly security deposit that will be returned in part or in full depending upon the condition of the room at the end of the stay.

Daily transportation to/from worksite provided if worker lives at company-negotiated housing site.

Benefits available after 90 days of employment include health, vision, dental, and holiday/vacation pay.

[Inbound/Outbound Transportation]: If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Reimbursement will be included in first paycheck following 50% completion.

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Subsistence will be at least $15.46 per day of travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with documentation of actual expenses. Employer will provide or pay the reasonable costs for lodging where lodging is necessary.

Employer will reimburse worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the worker.

[Three-fourths Guarantee]: The employer guarantees three-fourths of the total number of work hours of each 12-week period for beginning with the first workday after arrival of the worker or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration of the date specified in the work contract.
