Eaton’s Electrical Crouse-Hinds division is currently seeking a 3rd shift Machine Operator-Screw Machine to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, New York facility. This role will start at $20.11/hr with room for growth on further training.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and perform setups for a wide range of turning, drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, recessing, forming, facing, sawing and similar machining operations on six spindle bar and magazine secondary operation machines.
  • Determine proper operation sequence, select cams, tools, feeds and speeds required to grind tools to meet varying conditions.
  • Detect defective material or faulty operations. Refer unusual conditions to superior.
  • Perform simple assembly and packing duties as directed to form boxes, pick and kit parts from the Material Replenishment System (MRS) and pack correct number and type of parts in each box.
  • Visually inspect all gauges, tools and fixtures before storage; make minor repairs as necessary. Request replacement or send out for repairs, all damaged items.
  • Duties involve application of some specialized knowledge and experience and the use of judgment to plan and perform sequence of operations or procedures within limits of standard or recognized methods and established precedent.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to use shop arithmetic. Ability to read ordinary drawings or job layouts.
  • Ability to use micrometers, protractor, depth and fixed gauges. Knowledge of tools, machining methods and cutting quality of various metals.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum (3) three progressive years’ experience with screw machines.
