Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a fabricator/ Machine Operator Bus - First Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Omaha, NE facility.

Position Overview:

Layout/ design parts, make templates, punch, grind, drill, and tap copper bar stock. Load material into machines to cut, punch, form and/or bend to various configurations, operating machinery in the Bus department. Off load excess material. Must wear proper fabrication PPE, such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, material handling gloves, ear protection and face shield when required. This position is open to anyone looking for an opportunity to learn a new skill.

In this function you will:

  • You will receive work assignments from supervisor or production control system.
  • You will input information into data collection system as required.
  • You will work from manufacturing information, drawings, sketches, oral and written instructions.
  • You will be designing some parts to follow and fit in structures according to prints.
  • You will perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery. Such as Oiling/ greasing of machines and routine adjustments.
  • Will be responsible for setup and adjustments of CNC machines to process materials.
  • You will use material handling equipment. Overhead cranes and powered industrial vehicles, to move products and supplies. May lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
  • You will be familiar with all materials used to perform job functions. Follow material safety data sheet instructions.
  • Have basic knowledge/ understanding and be able to use standard hand tools.
  • You will utilize tape measures to 1/16” increments.
  • Use calipers, or other measuring devices to assure engineering standards to the .001 precision level.
  • You will perform statistical process control on machinery, as required.
  • You will operate a CNC punch machine and CNC post bender as requested by supervision.
  • You will set-up and operate manual shear.
  • You will assist lower coded operators or perform tasks of lower coded positions as needed.
  • You will observe all safety and hygiene requirements as specified or directed. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe workplace.
  • You will along with other employees are expected to comply with the environment, health and safety guidelines.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Relocation is not offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate Omaha, NE area (60 miles) will be considered for this position (with exception of internal candidates currently assigned to one of our Omaha, NE sites)
