Eaton’s vehicle group is looking for a Machinist to join our team. This position is based at our Kearney, Nebraska facility and is located on 1st shift. Relocation assistance will be provided within the U.S only.

This is a direct, full-time position that offers full benefits the day you start. In addition to Eaton’s competitive benefits, Eaton offers a salary of $28.75/hour.

The Machinist candidate must be a highly functional production employee who provides a wide variety of machinist support to the plant. This position assists with scheduling stockroom POs for on-deliveries and supports the tactical day-to-day maintenance support for the plant.

In this function, you will:

  • Operates production equipment according to safety and quality guidelines
  • Designs, creates machine parts, fixtures, and tooling from blueprints.
  • Sets up and runs manual mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Utilizes precision measuring equipment: Calipers and Micrometers
  • Provide technical assistance to engineering, maintenance and machine operators.
  • Perform normal plant machinist duties including operating all Toolroom equipment, including Die Heat Treat. Inspect quality of workmanship prior to delivery to customer.
  • Perform minor maintenance on Toolroom equipment
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required
  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing work experience
  • Minimum 2-year formal machinist training
  • Eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APEX for Manufacturing ratings of P3/Demonstrating and Gets Results or higher in previous two cycles if an internal employee
  • Associates degree from an accredited institution

Position Criteria:

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment and prioritize workload accordingly
  • Must have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and across the organization
