Machinist - 1st Shift

Eaton’s IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Machinist - 1st Shift. This position is based at our Carol Stream, IL location. The Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining lathe and milling machines. The machinist reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production. The machinist will contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

The hourly rate for this position is $20-$28 per hour.

What you’ll do:

• Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines.

• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.

• Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.

• Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.

• Maintains inventory of completed products.

• Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent

• Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Machining

• No relocation is available for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Carol Stream, IL facility will be considered

Preferred Qualifications :

• Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly operation preferred

Skills:

• The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.

• Noise level in plant is moderate.

• Hear protection required posted areas.

• Safety Glasses required in manufacturing areas

• Good problem-solving skills/Strong verbal communication skills/Strong teamwork skills

• Good attention to detail

• Able to follow-through on assigned tasks
