What you will do -

As a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer you will lead teams to deliver business process improvement projects integral to the site’s strategic growth plan. You will have the opportunity to analyze and implement lean process improvements to reduce cost and improve efficiencies in partnership with the business.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Perform and evaluate work measurement and workflow analysis for the establishment of standards and the utilization of production facilities
  • Ensure that plant layout drawings are correct and up to date at all times and that "free space" is created strategically to allow for improved flow and/or provision for new/additional production lines to support increased volume and new product introduction
  • Work with Process Development, Production, Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering teams to lead facility/line layout design and implementation projects
  • Develop plant and equipment layout, capacity plans, workflow and accident prevention measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities
  • Provide product assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices
  • Review requests for changes to facility layouts and propose options for review and approval
  • Evaluate new techniques and technological developments for inclusion in the production process
  • Report out in group settings on performance of production processes and ongoing projects
  • On-going support and advancement of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices in direct area of responsibility
  • Coach, mentor and lead project groups through Stryker Production System and Lean Lighthouse initiatives
  • Analysis and development of cost or efficiency improving initiatives

What you need -

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required; preferred in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional project teams required
  • Ability to consistently identify and drive continuous improvement throughout the business required
  • 2+ years relevant Industrial Engineering experience - preferred
  • 2+ years operations experience in manufacturing environment - preferred
  • Experience in CAD software, PowerBI, Excel and pivot tables, Minitab, Visio -preferred
