Position Summary

Within the Cell Therapy External Manufacturing department, the Global External Operations team brings together integrated business operations, portfolio management and project management, network strategy, and learning and compliance. The contract specialist will report into the Lead, Cell Therapy External Manufacturing POs & Contracting, within the Global External Operations team within Cell Therapy External Manufacturing. The group is responsible for delivering value by enabling the strategy and driving operational effectiveness. The responsibilities of the successful candidate fall into the following categories:

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages administrative aspects of contracting with contract service providers. Supports business functions with facilitation of service contracts, agreements, purchase orders, approvals and payments as needed, vendor monitoring, and oversight executed from BMS ERP systems.
  • Assist in Purchase order creation and invoice tracking against the budget.
  • Assist in tracking KPIs and preparation of monthly dashboards and reports.
  • Responsible to work with Legal, Global Procurement and Finance departments to coordinate all activities associated with the development and execution of contracts, purchase requisitions and invoice management.
  • Accountable for tracking, managing, and monitoring all changes to contracts/PO’s, ensuring timely amendments, approvals, and implementation within the External Manufacturing organization.
  • Implements and maintains tools and tracking systems to facilitate business operations, allotment of resources, and continuous improvement of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in business operations, contract management or related systems supporting these activities.
  • Must have knowledge & experience in SAP and Ariba systems.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and time management with focus on processes, projects and systems to efficiently meet business needs.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions. Modifies approaches and procedures to issues as they arise.
  • Requires moderate direction to complete more complex tasks; complete routine tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be a team player and be willing to work in an environment where individual initiative, accountability to the team and professional maturity are required.
