Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking an Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Arden, NC facility. Relocation assistance will be provided. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Position Overview:

Initiate, analyze and follow projects to completion, including maintenance of line, within assigned area of responsibility. Perform general and specific engineering duties associated with the development of an assigned project or line of apparatus. Be capable of independent judgement with a minimum of supervision. Provide training to other personnel.

In this function you will:

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement. Apply lean manufacturing techniques to eliminate waste and deliver products to meet customer’s expectations.
  • Develop and maintain robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes, consistent with lean manufacturing practices.
  • Lead cost out projects primarily related to labor productivity.
  • Coordinate projects with people at all levels, departments, and facilities within the organization.
  • Drive the adoption of process changes using Change Management methodologies.
  • Work with Design Engineering to ensure product design for manufacturability.
  • Develop ramp-up or ramp-down strategies as required for new products.
  • Independently define and manage projects to support overall company objectives.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel to improve existing processes.
  • Provide technical expertise to support daily operations to achieve significant improvement in production related objectives.
  • Complete Maintenance of Line activities as required such as ECN’s, Bill of Material updates, and Work Instruction updates.
  • Investigate and resolve safety related projects.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments and participate in incident investigations

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technology
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Machine automation knowledge

  • Manufacturing Strategy Development and Execution
  • EBS Tool Integration
  • Business Systems and Practices
  • General knowledge and practical application of leadership and management styles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering problem solving and quality techniques.
  • Strong and sound understanding of production, inventory, financial principles, and working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods.
  • Excellent computer skills MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
