Position Description

The Quality Specialist, with guidance from the IPT (Integrated Process Team) Quality Lead ensures product and process quality by performing functions related to the compliant manufacture, disposition and release of product. These activities include, but are not limited to: Quality batch disposition and release activities; Shop Floor audits; batch record review; and review/approval of various documentation, such as: deviation/complaint investigations, change control, and master batch record updates, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and comply with all Regulatory and our Manufacturing Division requirements.

The Quality Specialist works closely with the various groups, primarily within the assigned IPT, in a team environment, to ensure product quality and compliance to procedures and commitments, and maintains a broad-based knowledge of cGMPs, evolving Regulatory trends, and our ComQuality Policies, Guidelines, and Procedures.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor of Science in appropriate scientific/engineering field. If in a different field, relevant experience is required.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in pharmaceutical / vaccine research, technical, quality and/or manufacturing environment or related field.

  • Demonstrated leadership competence.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of international and FDA cGMPs.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical / vaccine research, quality and/or manufacturing environment or related field

  • Familiarity with Pharmaceutical and/or Vaccine/Sterile finished product manufacturing

  • Creativity and effectiveness in approaching and solving technical problems

  • Proficiency in project planning and execution; demonstrated understanding/proficiency with lean manufacturing principles/tools; excellent verbal and written skills; and working knowledge of quality batch release/batch disposition processes.
