Eatons Vehicle Group is currently seeking a Lead Manufacturing Controls Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Galesburg, MI facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.Position Overview:The Lead Controls Engineer is responsible for providing leadership to the North American region of Eatons Vehicle Group for Manufacturing Process Controls. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Collaborate with colleagues from the regional team and plants around North America+ Execute controls projects to drive improvements in manufacturing+ Research and benchmark new methods that can improve our manufacturing processes and/or give Eaton a competitive advantage.+ Assure environmental, health and safety requirements are satisfied when projects are implemented.+ Develop processes, systems, and software to manage manufacturing operations+ Drive digital transformation of Eatons manufacturing operations+ Implement shop floor connectivity through IIoT devices and SCADA systemsWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution is required+ Minimum of five (5) years working experience+ Minimum of two (2) years experience with the following:+ Programming and troubleshooting various robot applications.+ Programming and troubleshooting various PLC applications.+ Programming and troubleshooting various HMI applications.+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.Preferred Qualifications:+ Vision Systems experience+ Experience with National Instruments Lab View+ ACAD Electrical (Wiring Diagrams)+ Manufacturing statistics Six Sigma Green Belt+ Knowledge of Automotive Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols (J1339, UDS, etc.)+ Electronic system design and troubleshooting skills+ Mechanical system design and troubleshooting skills+ Hydraulic and Pneumatic system design and troubleshooting skillsPosition Success Criteria:+ Travel 25%+ Good decision making and communication skills+ Capable of multi-tasking for multiple project assignments+ Team-oriented, flexible, must be able to work with all levels of management+ Good team facilitation skills with ability to lead team members to enthusiastic consensus and task accomplishment to plan+ High level of imagination and creativity for developing unique solutions to team tasks and problems when situation warrants.+ Ability to gather and analyze data quickly for multiple different scenarios leading to best possible decision based on information available.+ The ability to effectively interface and communicate with multiple plants, external suppliers, customers and management team to achieve project team goals and/or problem-solving consensus.+ The ability to effectively interact in a multifunctional and multicultural environment to successfully meet or exceed specified goals.We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
