Eatons Power Distribution and Power Controls Division is seeking a Continuous Improvement/Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! This position will be based in our Greenwood, SC facility. Relocation is available for this position.Position Overview:The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for implementing focused Lean concepts in targeted operations that support the needs of the business which will improve productivity, achieve Cost Out, and reduce process scrap. In this position, you will drive continual improvement in overall product line operations performance through the application of sound engineering decisions, New Product Development Design Implementation Support, design for manufacturing, capital project execution, use six sigma for variation reduction, and project management.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations and achieve operational excellence.+ lead or facilitate projects or events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Continuous Flow, Standardization 5S, Error Proofing, Eliminating Waste, 3P event, etc.+ Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans for implementation of continuous improvement based upon lean assessment.+ Collaborate with MOL and ProLaunch teams to facilitate designs for manufacturing events.+ Assist in training and development of personnel by mentoring team members, team leads, and facilitators for projects.+ Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, tooling, processes and systems to obtain optimum cost and quality manufacturability.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we- as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.+ Minimum of 3 years of engineering, quality, or continuous improvement experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.+ Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorshipPreferred Qualifications:+ Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools+ Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software (Microsoft Office, AS400, AutoCAD).+ Experience with LEAN concepts/applications such as 5S+, Standard Work and Value Stream Mapping.+ Experience with 8 Wastes walk/elimination and visual management, process checks and deviation tracking methodology.+ Additional knowledge and/or experience leading projects, managing process changes, conducting analysis for root cause identification, and understanding how to identify problems and reach resolutions is beneficial.Physical Demands:+ While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel.
