To Eatons Electrical division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our first shift team. This position is based at our Arden, NC facility.Position Overview:Support Manufacturing Engineering functions through the industrialization of new and existing products utilizing Lean concepts including continuous flow, pull, and error proofing. Initiate, analyze and follow projects to completion within assigned area of responsibility. Perform general and specific engineering duties associated with the development of an assigned project or line of apparatus. Support continuous improvement framework initiatives in overall product line operations. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Integrate Lean Continuous Flow concepts to develop assembly lines for various products that will reduce the cycle time, improve the efficiency, and simplify the work content of the assembly process.+ Complete time studies for use in capacity planning and continuous improvement.+ Participate in and lead rapid improvement events comprised of multi-functional team members.+ Perform the necessary audits of the plants operations to evaluate opportunities for implementation of various ELS improvement initiatives.+ Continuously enhance personal skills and knowledge of the subject matters pertaining to the operations initiatives, through networking, education, and training.+ Drive continuous improvement culture through project support and implementation with the operations team.+ Utilize Eaton Lean and quality tools to drive cost reduction and support the startup and launch of capital projects.+ Participate in Tier Meetings and GEMBA walks to identify improvement opportunities and work with operations and management to ensure successful completion of projects.+ Provide Eaton Lean System support across the Plant.+ Effectively interact in a matrix environment that includes teams made up of people from Operations, IT, OPEX, Engineering, Marketing, IT, and Supply Chain.+ Perform analysis and reviews to support the Eaton Lean Tools. Analysis may include observation studies, times studies, capability studies, set up reduction studies, waste walks, and 5S Site Audit.+ Support Manufacturing Engineering Processes via the Engineering Change Request Processes, Product Development Process, and Inventory Management Processes. Support may include determining action to take, writing the request for change, verifying the change, and training employees on the change.+ Provide action to implement improvements. Actions may include building racks, relocating parts, sorting, straightening, and shining.+ Support Manufacturing Engineer in standard work development and process check implementation.+ Support EHS Team in safety improvement projects and Work Station Risk Assessments.+ Issue purchase orders for required equipment and supplies for production and projects.+ Other duties as assignedWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Associates degree in an Engineering field or Engineering Technology required from an accredited institution+ A minimum of 1 year in manufacturing environment+ Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.
