Eatons Power Delivery division is currently seeking a ManufacturingEngineer to join our team. This position is based at our Olean, NY facility. Relocationassistance will be provided.Position Overview:The Manufacturing Engineer - MOV will develop, implement and maintain the plant engineeringfunctions, such as Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Processesand Tools, in order to support operations in a ceramic finishing processthrough the achievement of the objectives and goals from the ManufacturingDepartment. Responsibilities include coordination of equipment installation,technical support, process improvement, preventive maintenance programdevelopment, and compliance of environmental and safety requirements.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion ofevery employee around the world. Its where bold,bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you canhelp us reach ours.In this function, you will:+ Interface directly with alllevels of manufacturing and product engineering, and be responsible forprocess improvements and controls, machine capacity/capability studies,equipment selection and qualification, and adherence to company proceduresand quality standards.+ Troubleshoot and resolvemanufacturing equipment issues, and write engineering documents to supportchanges.+ Assist in design, maintenanceand interpretation of meaningful and accurate performance measurementsystems to increase production efficiency and cost effectiveness.+ Design, procure, and implementfabrication, fixture and manufacturing equipment. Direct the procurementof specialized tools, fixtures and gauges by evaluating design concepts,initiating tool orders, and justifying expenditures. Support tooling,setup & related production requirements.+ Analyze the manufacturingimpact of vendor evaluations and participate in vendor selectiondecisions.+ Identify and meet the need forapplication of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methods, includingdevelopment and execution of productive maintenance and corrective andpreventative action plans & systems.+ Enforce and implement safetypolicies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuousimprovement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance issues.+ Give technical direction forinitiating and maintaining production capability of assigned components.+ Provide manufacturing supportdocumentation necessary for each operation.+ Understand and drive theimplementation of all appropriate elements of the Eaton Business System.+ Maintain a constant search foridentifiable and measurable cost reductions through scrap analysis,technology applications, design modifications, and improved laborutilization. Prepare cost estimates and justifications, as necessary.+ Recommend disposition andrework procedures for non-conforming product.+ Provide shop support fortooling, setup, and production requirements.+ Assist Supervisors in areas ofresponsibility in training new employees.+ Provide necessaryinterdepartmental communication between Engineering, Production and othersto accomplish assigned goals and objectives.+ Provide assistance &support to production supervisors in areas of employee on-the-job trainingneeds.+ Promote a safety culture andactively participate in activities aimed to improve the working conditionsof the plant+ Perform other related tasks andassignments, as necessaryWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives andbackgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger.QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution+ Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing engineering experience+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:+ Experience working in a manufacturing environment.+ Experience in finishing of ceramic materials.+ SAP business system experience.+ Lean or six sigma training/certifications.Position Success Criteria :+ Ability to coordinate engineering projects and demonstrate engineering technical expertise to a team.+ Excellent communication skills and proficient engineering report writing skills.+ Must have the ability to function in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision, while performing multiple tasks.+ Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.+ Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams.+ Strong time management skills.+ Able to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.+ Foundational knowledge of lean principles and manufacturing processes.+ Effective verbal & written communication skills to interface with managers, vendors, customers and peers.+ Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Inventor & AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project.+ Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of equipment efficiency concepts such as OEE (overall equipment efficiency).We make what matters work.
