What You Will Do:

Be a manufacturing engineer, for our mobile CT scanner production line, in one of the most successful divisions of Stryker. Be part of a cross-functional team that produces electromechanical devices to enhance the surgical environment for surgeons and healthcare providers. Be responsible manufacturing, sustainment, continuous improvement and problem solving for specific product line, co-leading unit with 2 other engineers. This team member will be involved in key business decisions, enhancing and improving the quality output and driving a robust manufacturing environment while focusing on complex products.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Lead or mentor development and manufacturing of electrical components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices.
  • Apply and mentor others in electronics, custom test equipment and PCBA manufacturing.
  • Validation of manufacturing processes, inclusive of custom test equipment.
  • Lead and guide in correction of complex product process/manufacturing issues.
  • Validations required, per corporate medical device guidelines, in a production environment
  • Conduct technology exploration and influence application in the business.
  • Translate user needs to design inputs/ specifications and produce complex system level designs independently.

Business Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to quality requirements, taking ownership of processes, NC’s/CAPA’s and continuous improvement
  • Align with strategic plant metrics by driving cost savings initiatives through improved processes and/or new technology.
  • Demonstrates financial acumen.

Med Device Compliance:

  • Mentor others as a business unit expert on the usage of industry standards
  • Lead others to create and refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History record and associated documents

General Responsibilities:

  • Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Advanced Operations, Regulatory and Project Management to ensure project success, both leading and influencing other leaders on the team.
  • Identify and lead the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.
  • Execute and lead segments of complex process development to advance projects through various life cycle stages.
  • Contribute to complex product development through release and lead one technical area of expertise.
  • Hold self and others accountable to deliver high quality results with passion, energy and drive to meet business priorities.
  • Mentor, develop and inspire others in current and future roles.

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Candidate does not need to be proficient in all areas but must be proficient in some and be able to demonstrate being a quick learner.
  • Hardware Development
  • Motor Controller Technologies
  • Custom test equipment
  • Sub-system digital and analog hardware architecture design and component selection.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and ability to implement based on these standards

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 4+ years of related manufacturing experience
  • Works independently to plan and schedule own activities to meet project timelines
  • Works cooperatively with cross functional team
  • Collaborates with peers to leverage and share engineering best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with manufacturing products in an FDA or other regulated industry
