Eaton’s Mission Systems is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician III to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility.

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Technician III is responsible for performing manufacturing processes on complex assemblies by following written instructions, with a detailed knowledge of pneumatic and thermal test requirements and equipment to evaluate aerospace systems.

In this function you will:

  • Perform manufacturing processes on complex assemblies following written instructions.
  • Work on complex projects and/or products with minimal direction and knowledge to involve required support from Engineering or Supervision.
  • Verify calibrated equipment, material with expiration dates and ensure written instructions are up to date and accurate prior to use in production.
  • Properly manage the traceability of numerous components to ensure assembly accuracy.
  • Work in partnership with Engineering to Identify improvement opportunities, resulting in a decrease of lead time, cost savings, elimination of waste, or safety improvement.
  • Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status following site guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
  • Assist Production Supervisor in training, developing, and mentoring the lower-level technicians on products, manufacturing processes and testing practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
  • A minimum of 4 years of Aerospace manufacturing experience OR 5 years of Military experience OR 6 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred qualifications:

  • An associate degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology.
  • Assembly & Test experience in a Space Systems manufacturing environment.
  • Electronics Assembly and Inspection experience (Certified J-STD-001 and or IPC-A-610).
  • An understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts.

Position Criteria:

  • A detailed knowledge of pneumatic and thermal test requirements and equipment to evaluate aerospace systems.
  • Experience in the use of Pressure gauges, flowmeters, relief valves, and/or transducers to create test setups per engineering diagrams and customer specifications.
  • Knowledge in complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical assemblies and high-pressure test equipment issues.
