Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Material Handler to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Omaha, NE facility.

Position Overview:

This position assists in distributing out our materials for our electrical metering, relaying and transformer components into medium voltage (5-38kv) switchgear assemblies as well as device wiring.

In this function you will:

  • Operate a forklift to move raw materials and WIP on pallets from one location to another.
  • Organize queue areas for WIP.
  • Proactively stage material in production areas to minimize operator time wasted when searching for parts.
  • Assist with checking in and loading job carts and processing surplus material returns.
  • Build crates for miscellaneous orders as needed.
  • Perform driving duties as necessary to pick up supplies for the shop or parts for outsourcing.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and accomplishing team/plant goals; participate in Kaizen events.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 60-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1-year Fork truck experience
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission

Position Criteria:

  • Communicate effectively with Inventory Specialist and Supervisors to ensure material is timely staged.
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and assist in scheduled 5S activities.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required, including weekends.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent history of work performance, team work and attendance
