Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Material Controller- C Shift. The core hours are Friday through Sunday from 5:00 am - 5:00 pm. The rate for this position is $17.00 - $21.25 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

In the Material Controller role, you will need to have the ability to read and comprehend parts drawings, M.I. routings, Bills of Ladings, travel documents, dock receipts, and related materials documentation. Specific knowledge of Sumter processes and procedures related to steel and bus fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control is desired. A broad range of knowledge in materials planning, scheduling, receiving, shipping, and tracking systems is preferred. You will need to have specific knowledge related to AS400, and the Order Management System (OMS). Experience in MAPICS and Dynamic Machine Management (DMM) is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills with individuals and groups to facilitate process improvements within teams is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must transfer material to and from the dock utilizing the yard truck.

• Select and prepare paperwork, commercial invoices, custom papers, shipping lists, and instruction booklets.

• Utilize AS400 and VISTA to ship/confirm products, in addition to sending advance shipment notices.

• Work on projects and special assignments as required.

• Support production line requirements as necessary.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution

• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter County (50 Miles) will be considered for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Computer skills including knowledge of AS400, Vista, and DMM. Must be able to operate fork trucks, hand trucks, hand carts, hand tools, banding machines, scales, safety equipment, etc.

• Experience reading tape measures, blueprints, and calipers. Proficient in various production operations including breakers, tapping, notching, and general knowledge of the fabrication process

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate.

Will record any measurable statistics that your position impacts such as production expenses, maintenance expenses, sales volumes, payroll costs, capital expenditures, research budgets, cost of purchases, the value of inventories controlled, and employees supervised (direct and indirect). Will be expected to adequately fulfill customer orders while adhering to high-quality standards to minimize production expenses associated with scrap, error, and unwarranted delays. Through routine preventative maintenance, you will reduce maintenance expenses, allowing machines to operate at maximum efficiency.
