Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Material Planner. This position can be based from our Indianapolis, IN facility or our Galesburg, MI facility.

The Material Planner leads the planning and execution of material needed at the right time and the right quantity for ELC facility in Indianapolis, as well as provide support for any other VGNA facility that may require it. Responsible for Inventory Value, DOH, E&O. This individual will work closely with the site operations teams to deploy standard process and tools to optimize materials operations. This will include onsite support for driving continuous improvement and problem solving.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders/blanket order releases
  • Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for aftermarket and production
  • Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
  • Controls inventory value and consistently evaluating over max inventory to look for reduction opportunities
  • Looks for opportunities to decrease slow move inventory, fire sales, promotions, etc. and works with the sales team set them in motion.
  • Control daily critical items and communicates in timely manner with the site
  • Controls plants disruptions eliminated (0 zero down time)
  • Requests on time cycle counts in case item goes below 50% min and assures the production plan is covered
  • Maintains excess/obsolete material controlled.
  • Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.
  • Leads historical forecast analysis in case material is being overpulled by the manufacturing plants
  • Review material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning and logistics
  • Lead material deviations regarding material availability, (Quality, Logistics, Discrepancies)
  • Operate with urgency when it’s needed to mitigate impact to our customers, able to maintain calm on stressful situations
  • Promotes and supports Eaton’s ethics and values as well as quality policies.
  • Supports the Planning team off site with issues related to receiving and inventory.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and/or candidates with an anticipated graduation date by 5/2024.
  • Completion of internship and/or co-op in Materials Planning
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
  • No relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50 mile radius of Indianapolis, IN or Galesburg, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years experience in Material Planning, SIOP, Order Management, and/or Plant Operations.

Skills:

  • Experience with ERP (Oracle) business intelligence platforms (OBIEE, Qlikview), Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and product knowledge.
  • Ability to apply problem solving skills and speak to different levels of the organization
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to work independently
