We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, who are innovators in search of a better way, and who believe in inclusion.Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us _Feed the Future,_ and grow your career.This position will report directly to the Mill Superintendent.**What you will do:**+ Optimize the process control of the Phosphate Concentrate Production using a flotation process and associated operating equipment in the Mill Area+ Optimize the process control of the calciners, dryer, coal system, and associated operating equipment in the Mill Area+ Ensure that neither safety nor the environment is compromised, the incumbent ensures that the products manufactured in the Mill Area are within required chemical specifications for in-plant consumption and are produced at the lowest possible cost+ Maintenance problems, which inhibit the efficient operation of the Mill Calcining & Drying equipment, are addressed either through modifications and the work order system, or by requesting capital funds for improvements+ Ensure trainings are kept up to date+ Ensuring production tonnage meets or exceeds plan+ Maintain the required quality specifications of both the dried rock and calcined rock+ Keep costs low by improving the reliability of the operating equipment and optimizing the process+ Request and apply capital funds to improve the calcining and drying operations+ Maintain fuel consumption at efficient levels+ Participate in crew meetings on a monthly basis to improve safety and environmental awareness+ Troubleshoot operational delays reduce bottlenecks, and identify mechanical problems+ Monitor and document all calcining and drying emissions data and port as required in accordance with Title V and any other involved regulatory agency+ Proper operation of all six WESPs+ Coordinate daily production and process trials with other departments+ Track performance and initiate process modifications as necessary+ Conduct presentations and meetings with the plant and outside agendas**What you will bring:**+ A Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mining, Metallurgical Engineering or Mineral Processing is preferred; other engineering disciplines may be acceptable+ 5+ years of industrial experience in the mining industry+ A strong background within product conveying, mineral processing, chemistry, materials handling, and mixing of raw materials for the float and clay process is highly beneficial+ Prior practical experience within the mining or mineral processing industries is desirable+ Expertise with personal computers and various software applications is essential in order to keep up with key operating guidelines for product quality, budget calculations, environmental calculations, and miscellaneous statistical manipulations+ Supervisory skills are required because the incumbent fills in for the Superintendent and General Supervisor, has weekend duty on a regular basis, and must direct Calcining & Drying personnel to make changes in operating procedures+ Three to five years of process or production engineering experience is required+ Project engineering development and management skills will be necessary+ Effective speaking skills to ease the numerous occasions when crew meetings need to be conducted+ Prior supervisory experience and six sigma training is desired**Are you a good match?
