Eaton’s Aerospace Group, Interconnect Technology Division (ITD) is currently seeking a Production Team Leader to join our team. This position is based at our City of Industry, CA location.

Position Overview:

The Team Leader will assist the Supervisor in the coordination, facilitation, and motivation of the activities of all assigned employees to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, lean and efficiency goals. Lead by example in areas such as safety, ethical standards, attendance, intensity, sense of urgency, team philosophy, initiative, quality assurance, standard work, 5-S, product knowledge, positive attitude, interpersonal communication skills and professional presence. The Team Leader will assist our onsite Production Manager in setting up a new production site location for our Aerospace ITD Division.

In this function you will:

  • Move materials, as necessary, using forklift or other material-handling devices.
  • Perform procedures necessary to ensure compliance with the Eaton MESH initiative and ensure the personal safety of the incumbent and his/her associates including eye safety, hearing conservation, machine safety guards, ergonomic movement, lock out/tag out, MSDS procedures, and OHSA regulations.
  • Represent production work centers in daily production meetings as needed and highlight any issues affecting production
  • Assist in training of new employees. Maintain training records for production team.
  • Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement including implementing hour by hour boards, 5S improvements, standard work.
  • Assemble, adjust or repair assemblies/sub-assemblies using hand and air tools, fixtures, gauges and measuring devices; follow electrical testing procedures, and properly use and maintain all gauging and assembly equipment.
  • Responsible for required calibration of all tools
  • Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork (ELSS, EQS, etc). Lead Kaizen events in within and across production team.
  • Respond to emails and attend virtual meetings with the team as necessary
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited Institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Soldering and harnessing within a manufacturing environment
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Soldering and harnessing within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in leading/supervising a group of employees
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using SAP
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft applications including Outlook and Excel
  • Experience in the Aerospace Industry
  • Certified in IPC
  • Familiarity with molding process
  • Experience in leading a group/team directly or indirectly
  • Experience using equipment for cables and harnesses (braiding and planetary)

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
  • Willingness to become certified in operation of forklifts to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to use computer
